Default Fishing Ideas

I have a sabbatical from work for 3 months from 2nd July next year and before taking the wife away I have a three week period to fish and I love planning early.

I have an idea of four short trips:

3 days Salmon Fishing Scotland
2 nights Sea Trout Wales
2 days Pike Fishing (North England)
2 days Bass Fishing (South or South West)

I am a trout fisherman so I am looking for Courses or ideas in that period and any advice/suggestions would be welcome

But Esthwaite isn't open to the public for piking untiul the Autumn. Here's your man, based in the Keswick area and a stalwart of our Cumbria Fishing Festival

Ballina Co Mayo Ireland - fly Ryanair to Knock, or take the ferry.

On the programme:

Salmon on the Moy -treat yourself to a session on the Ridge Pool where salmon fishing becomes the town's major spectator sport - the guys on the bridge can see your fly and the fish!

Sea trout in the estuary

Lough Conn and Cullin for some lough style boat fishing with the odd salmon if you're lucky

There are several smaller loughs full of pike

Might be a bit far north for the bass (although as the sea gets warmer they are around) but there is some great pollack caught on the fly.

If Carrowmore is fishing well then that is only a short drive

Guides, ghillies and instruction available plus a huge choice of accomodation

Word of warning - if you plan to stay 2/3 weeks you may never leave.

"2 days Bass Fishing (South or South West)"

Ask around on the Welsh section of WSF, I will say that Bass anglers tend to be very protective of their 'hotspots'. Three beaches that produce well are Llangenith, Cefn Sidan and Pendine. They are also very good Flounder beaches and if you fancy getting into the surf you can target the Bass and Golden Grey Mullet on the fly.
