Here's a SBS i did for another forum a few months back. Didn't have alot of matrials available so just made do with what I had, hope you enjoy.
Right, first of all i did this in a hurry with some of the proper materials substituted. It still shows the effect. Ill do another one in the future when ive got the right stuff for it. Lets get to it
Ive been using this indicator all season and its been great for me. Used with french style nymphing it has been deadly. It can also be used attached to a fly line and fished close in with heavier czech nymphs. I find it best however on the french leader used with lightly weighted bead head nymphs. It detects even the slightest of bites due to its supleness. If anyone has any questions about french nymphing, feel free to ask

Your going to need, some mono (bright yellow, red, and black make good contrasts, Im just using maxima to show effect)The length of the mono is dependant on how long you want the indicator to be (the peice im using is around 16inches) You want the mono to be slightly heavier than the one im using (6lb) Ideally 10 or 12lb line would be suitable. A cotton bud (i ran out so used an old broken float) some tape, boiling water, vinegar, a bowl and scissors.

Put a loop in both ends of the mono.

Attach one end of the mono to the cotton bud with the tape.

Wrap on the mono in tight bunching turns (this will be easier with heavier mono) and then fix it with some more tape.

Closer look, where this shows the spacing between the mono, try to make sure there are no gaps between the mono. At this stage stick the kettle on and get a bowl out.

Fill the bowl with boiling water and add a splash of vinegar, give it a stir.

Put the wrapped mono into the boiling water mix and leave for 10 minutes (be careful the tape doesnt un ravel with the heat) Also try to make sure it is fully submerged. This process makes the mono suptle and forces it to coil.

After 10 minutes, take the mono out of the water (be careful and do it with forceps or gently with scissors)

Put the mono into the freezer and leave over night, Im unsure as to what putting the mono into the freezer actually does.

The next morning take the mono out of the freezer, undo the tape and the above picture is what your final product should look like. With heavier mono and tighter bunching turns the coiled effect would be even greater.
Again this was done with what i had, so if you need to ask any questions please feel free to do so
