Default Rio Gold or LT for small river?

Appreciate a little advice please. My venture into river fishing continues. In particular small river and streams. I have a Hardy Featherweight 7' 3# rod and want to put a Rio line on it. Can't decide between Rio Gold and Rio Light Touch WF3. I only need to make short casts but want the rod to load quickly. Which one is best for the job?

Any help much appreciated...

Chris.

I have both lines.

From what you describe I'd go with the Gold due to the nature of its front profile. The LT has a longer front taper, great for delicacy but not so good if you want to load a rod quickly.

Ahh interesting, that's what I'll do then. Thanks for that.

Chris.
