Buying a new line next week and not sure what to go with. My rod is a greys x-flite 8 weight so can any one suggest a good wf line

The last floater i got was from Stewart the pitsford pirate on hear it lies stright and high in the water and not paying stupid prices for a name and fancy box, give him a try.

Are Greys lines not designed to match with Greys rods?

For a excellent general all purpose floating line the Rio Gold takes some beating

They might tell you that so they can sell you an pricey line, my young lad fishes a Greys rod with on of these floates as well just mat the line weight to the rod

I'm using a Scientific Anglers GPX (WF5) which I'm delighted with, but hear very good things about the Rio Gold which I will try next. I think both come with welded loops which are the first things I cut off!

Pitsford Pirate and Bario lines seem to have a good following on this forum.

I have used the Bario GT140 this season for thefirst time and love it.
Im not into top of the range lines as a rule but this line has out performed anything I have used in the past (all be it a small list).
The turnover and presentation is fantastic and if you want a bit of a chuck, the line shoots for ever. At the price it's got to be a must try.
As a balanced view an so as not to sound like I have shares in the company;
Trust it to be a Jock to come up with such a good line for such little money.

i use rio gold great line sits high in the water easy to see in yellow help with casting as it has a change in colour so u no when to start lifting to re cast

Go and ask the pirate... he has supplied me with 2 lines which i cannot fault one little bit... fly through the rings and lie perfectly...

IF you can, try a few lines on your rod, one line on a rod may well suit that rod, or casters ability!
I use rio gold lines, snowbee xs lines, and Shakespeare worcester lines!
