Default Watendlath, Lake District.

Hello all,

Going to Watendlath Fishery in the Lake District on Friday. Has anyone been there recently and if so have you got any tips on flies or tactics. Looking at the weather I obviously need to pack my waterproofs!

thanks,

Nick.

Hi Nick
I'd recommend one othe boats for best fishing the banks are not the easiest to fish from. Use natural flies including Buzzers, Alder, Stonefly, Black Gnat, Hawthorn, and Olives. Also, try small dark wet fly patterns.Last time I went I had a six pounder on a small Bloody Butcher.

Good luck and let us know how you got on.

BK

Only fished it once in driving sleet and i blanked!! i do remember it as the bottomless pit though, drop the mud anchor and it seems to drop forever!

A nice fishery though, enjoy.
