Default Excellent value wading boots tip

Wading bootsd, good ones cost the earth. Why?

I have felt and tungsten studded boots, they are good but recently for my RIB expedition up the coast of Alaska and through the Bering Straight I needed some boots for use on deck over my drysuit (same as waders but all in one).

Divers all terrain boots are the business. I got a pair of abyss, All terrain boots from O3 in Portland. These are free draining through the soles and sides, have the support of proper hiking boots and the grippiest soles I have ever come across. i am never buying anything less again. The boys in black who live in landing craft in poole use them the US navy seals use them, police anti-terrorist folks use them - and the best bit is they are about £90. Far better value than the rubbish put about as wading boots for half as much again.

I wear them over my drysuit or dry trousers - and now my waders too. They are superb. I hope it helps someone - no felt, just extra siped rubber studded soles that grip like sh*t to a blanket.

That's great! Size 9, not available! Oh well I'll have to stay with wading boots.

They look pretty good.

One worry though.... do you reckon the mesh panels are robust enough to prevent any damage to the wader stocking foot, i.e. from thorns, etc.?

I think the word 'ballistic' means it will be polyarimid or nylon fibre or similar. So should be pretty tough.
