Default Loch Hope and Loch Badanloch

Hello to all

I have been very knidly invited over to Scotland to fish these two lochs in the last week of July and I was wondering could any of the posters here give me some info as to what I should expect.

Any tactics or suitable flies for these waters would be greatly appreciated.

regards
Richard

Thanks for getting back to me, but please excuse my naivety, what is it that makes these lochs so special in terms of quality angling? Looking at the web pictures they clearly are located in an amazing place.

many thanks

Richard

ERRRRMMMM Do you need anymore!
Scenery aside, lack of angling pressure, big wild trout, lots of them, coupled with the odd migratory fish.
Angling nirvana
Socially the craic is brill too!
you can let us know your opinion when you get back

hello..just back from a week up at Badanloch...three lochs join up in succession..with the boats moored at the end of Badanloch,.then you have Nan Clar then Rimsdale..the three lochs totalling nearly 7 miles long!

beware however...it all depends on the wind direction!....

when i pushed the boat out it happily followed the east wind down the loch..the thing is when the wind picked up and you try coming back up the loch you hit it head on and can be rough..about a 4 foot wave is normal...the left bank of Badanloch is good..if you get the chance to get as far as Rimsdale you may get a treat..a drift down the right bank can produce a fish every cast although BEWARE!...
if it is low water and the wind is from east ..getting in and out of Rimsdale can have it's treachery
easier if there are 2 of you..you have to stop the engine and row against the wave to get over submerged rocks on way out..quite a job and dangerous if you are on your own!....hope you get a gentle south westerly!....x

Good quality salmon and sea trout fishing in Loch Hope as well as brownies.

If you have one take a dapping rod too.
