Yes, splendid contribution from the editor

Why don't you write something about the thread you have started?

It's not all just about advertising revenue!

Or is it?

Mark

Sorry, but it is.
However we get to play at their expense!!

Anyways, my favourite is Friarscarse on Nith.
Says a lot as i have a house 8 miles away, in Thornhill.
Hotel has absolutely no piped muzak.
No juke box.
No gaming machines.
Absolutely no casual "ned" trade.
Is peace and tranquillity on banks of Nith.
Anyone wanting a couple of days chilling out of the rat race, this is the one!!
regards
bert

It was the Cape Wrath Hotel- virtually no amenities, dire food but amazing views and superb fishing.Sadly now a private home. Very fond of Tomdoun Hotel too, and Scourie.

It's the hub of the fly fishing universe. Here the dry fly rule started in June 1865 after a conversation at "that excellent Inn the Peacock at Rowsley" in October 1864. Today it still understands the needs of we anglers and caters for us to suit. It is the HQ of the Peacock Fly Fishing Club. Anglers are always welcome no matter the hours we keep. Jenni Mackenzie is the perfect hotel manager, a human dynamo who ensures everything is as it should be. Her husband Ian ensures the kitchen produces excellent food for all tastes. Try a coffee in the morning there with the chef's home-made biscuits - subtle diet breakers that would tempt an angel!

Oh and the fishing is as it should be too but that is down to Warren and Jan.
