hi guys has anybody used the greys gx500 fly reel
if so what they like.

So good I have 2 of them, 1 for my #5 set up and another for my #7/8.
Nice light reel with sturdy internals; easy R/H to L/H swap and quick spool changes; it does what it says on the tin.

Got 2 GX700's and if the GX500 has the same build then it should be fine . Good drag , spools don't slip,good finish . There's a vid on Youtube 'Greys Fly Reels' .

I have the GX700 aswell, never thought Id spend more than £20 on a reel considering my last reel was a Lureflash one, cost £5.00 with 4 spare spools

BUT,

I love the GX700 and hopefully will last me a good few years like its been said, if the GX700 is anything to go by the GX500 will be mint aswell.

I've just bought on and think its great, I was trying to decide between the GX500 and the Truefly SLA, it was a tough call but chose the GX, happy fisher.
