Default Rods : Quick Recovery

How will a rod with a 'Quicker recovery' aid casting ? I'm presuming on really short casts but not sure

The higher the recovery the smaller the distance the tip will travel after the stop.. So the loop will be smaller and thighter then a rod with slower recovery.. Of course you have to do something yourself too.. Bit hard for me to explain in English if i'm honest.. But i'm sure you will get more answers..

A slow rod will also put a wave in the line on the forward cast as the tip bounces. This can be useful on occasions (wind behind you, creates slack for the flies to drift with the wind or to drift down stream) but can also reduce the distance of the cast. It also creates more surface area which if casting against the wind, stops the forward cast further and prevents turnover. Your casting will have to change to compensate for this. Slower casting and shorter casts to allow the line to straighten and turn over the leader and flies.

Well, what i said is incorrect, after the stop when the tip reaches his lowest point, the recovery starts.. But like i said this is difficult (for me) in English.. But fast recovery you will normally only find in fast rods, you have slower rods these days with a fast(ish) recovery..

Think I got it Jerry. So, they say the DL4 and the BIIt Have similar actions, with the BIIt having a quicker recovery. What will be the difference on the way The line is cast ? The ability to make a tighter loop with the BIIt ?

Yes you can make tighter loops with the IIt because of the faster recovery.. The IIt is similar in action but you really couldn't compare them with one and other except from the way they bend.. The IIt is much lighter, but also the boron in the butt makes it more powerfull.. The funny thing with the IIt is because it is a softer rod you can easily reach down in the butt were the power is.. I think the IIt in some models really is a one of a kind rod, for me probably the best river rod out there at the moment.. I always say it is a slow rod that thinks it's fast.
