Default Kink eyes

Hi All

Does anyone make a klinkhammer hook with a very large eye?

The reason is that this would make NZ kink'n'dink infinitely easier and more productive.

One would simply thread (and tie) two tippets through the kink's eye: one attached to the leader and back to the fly line as per usual; the other being the dropper on which the nymph would hang.

Voila! No more droppers hanging off klink shanks and getting in the way of a good strong hook-up.

Does such a hook exist?

I am not so sure that would be effective as a NZ style. The 'Klink' is designed to sit with it's backside down in the water. If you connect a weighted nymph to the eye then the 'Klink' will be tipped forward.

I tie in a small 1mm tippet ring on a piece of mono on the Klinkhammer body before tying the normal dubbed or thread body.

The mono goes up and down the shank of the hook and then sits at the base of where the dubbed body ends.

You tie the Klink on as normal (as point fly) and then the second fly to the ring on the Klink - this keeps the hook bend of the Klink clear and the base of the Klink (as mentioned above) hanging correctly down in the water.

Am I missing something (I am reknowned for being Mr Thicky)

Why is tying a tippet with micro ring, or a klink with an additional eye any less obstructive than a bit of fluoro tied around the hook?
