I'm off to Assynt in August , so I dug out my old Orvis Trident TLS 10' 7 wt ..good for boat or bank I thought. I realized that using it puts me in a bad mood..and always has. Irrational.
Maybe its because it feels heavy and slow..but then I don't want too fast an action as I'm using droppers and don't want to spend all day undoing tangles. I think I bought it in a sale about 10 years ago and wish I hadn't. I really fancy a Hardy Uniqua 10' #6 or an Echo but unless I resort to Alcohol-aided online shopping I cannot really justify buying another rod ..
Do any other forum members have irrational rod aversion ?

My first graphite - a sage DSII 8' 5 weight - I hated that with a passion for years.

But rods are like women, they never perform exactly the way you want them to. But when you have enough of them on hand you can oscillate between them and somehow you do find satisfaction.

I now find I'm quite comfortable with it - but it still doesn't fit well in my armoury.

I have a Hardy rod bought for me a few years ago. Not sure what the model is but I remember looking it up and thinking It was over priced and seriously overrated then just as it is now!
It's horrible, just nasty to fish with.

I also have a diawa sensor rod I got as a teengaer with my pocket money, it's horrendous! The thing was a very poor choice but I don't suppose you can complain about a rod that was only £18 brand new!!

Don't like to talk trash about brands but, i have a few yes, and not the cheapest out there i'm afraid..
