Default What is the best fishery in Lancashire

Having had two meets at Barnsfold near Preston a group of Forum members are looking for recomendations for another meet in August. What in member's opinion is the best fishery in the Lancashire area for a group of twelve or so to fish?

Pennine is well run, full of doubles which come out regularly, but unless you like sharing the bank with fly fisherman float fishing cats whiskers, and the owner who thinks he is doing you a favour by allowing you to fish there, then it's best avoided.
Clegg Hall was a great fishery but I think it's now closed (acid house will confirm) .

Pendle view offers great top of the water sport but probably has little to offer an angler looking for a challenge. It can however be booked, so I suppose if you had enough interested, you could get it for the day

cheers.

Hi Baz

I'm just doing a bit of research but I think we may be going to Stocks if no one comes up with a better idea.

I'm going to suggest a deal Baz you catch the fish in future and I'll land 'em.

What a team we'd make.

Good idea...do we need to half the score?

Been looking around and found this (again) you'll probably know of it and of the venues (obviously through my lack of experience they're just names to me) but...

Black Moss Res ?

Clegg Hall Fisheries ?

Cleverley Mere ?

RoughLee

Cowpe Res ?

Here's the link

Day ticket information for fly fisheries and venues

Don't know...just a few thoughts

Hi folks.

Penine, sod that.
Clegg Hall, great place but no longer in business.
Pendle View, too small though good for beginners.
Rough Lee, only looked at it once, some work colleagues go and the guy who owns it is suppose to work where I do. Don't know him though. It didn't look too good when I went.
Heard of Cowpe but never been.

Don't know anything about Cleverley Mere or Black Moss res.

Another ideas:
Mere Water at Barley, around the corner from Rough Lee and at the bottom of Pendle Hill. Other side to Chlitheroe. Has 2 ponds. No meeting hut. Waters are small.

I agree with the above. Pennine is the pits. In my view, so is Pendle View. A muddy hole in the ground with poor quality fish.

I used to like Arnfield but I won't pay his prices.

I like Westlow but haven't fished it often. Good price, friendly and well run and stocked. Woz or Canada Kid could probably tell you more.

There's Fylde but only fished it once. Maybe MJP has fished it more recently. Owner told me that it can be a good, top of the water fishery - but then he would.

Boat fishing Stocks could be fun. If we stick to the bank we'd never see each other.

There's always Bank House. Good fishery, and certainly intimate enough. Would probably have to book .

Mere Beck is interesting in it's way - again would probably have to book

Woah, the list is endless
Any of the above

How are you Bill? How's the toe? You still in Scotland? Or is the bonanza over?
