have been recommended Slovenia as a destination. Need to take the wife and so a condition is that it is a quality hotel nearby- many of the sites have lodge type accommodation but need to find a good hotel. Probably 4 or 5 star- any help appreciated- also details of guide would assist- thanks

We went on a walking holiday in Slovenia about 5 years ago. Stayed some of the time at the excellent Hvala Hotel in Korabid.....some great fishing nearby too. I'm pretty sure the hotel can sort out a guide.

I will pm you info on one holliday organizer here. She has loads of expirience with high end guests and is trained somellier etc., she can also arrange fun time for your wife as well as your fishing. If you need a high end service she is the one to go to.But beware your wife might have a better time than you, there is loads of things to see and do over here as well as great food and wine, you just need someone to show this to you. Otherwise, Brdo near Kranj has some very high end accomodations (i think they still have tjem) as well as normal hotel. It is ex holliday residence of Yugoslav king and later Tito. Grad Otočec is another higher end destination, however bit further from most fishing action (as long as we are considering trout).
