Default Too hot to fish?

I've got a day off tomorrow and am planning to take advantage but, after a couple of disappointing days recently when I'm sure the changeable weather had something to do with it (other than any lack of ability on my part), I was wondering whether people thought that the predicted high temperatures for tomorrow may mean I should do some of those jobs which I really should be getting on with?

Take advantage of every chance you can,and by the way send some heat up this way, stop hogging it all.

Just remember that trout don't have eyelids so if really bright they will seek shelter or in lakes and lochs often go deeper. We fished at Roslynlee on an extremely bright, very still windless day and the fish were 8' down during most of the day by the dam with a few fish patrolling the edges in shallower water.

As for going, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at anything else!

I'd give it a miss. The trout will be in deeper, cooler water out of the bright sunshine. I prefer to fish dries and I soon get cheesed-off flogging lures - roll on September.

I suppose the float-fishermen with their eggs, blobs, and various other devices, may do OK.

I'll second that, certainly on our lake evenings offer brilliant sport with the trout moving up in the water and into the margins taking dry fly and emerger patterns from around 7.30 - 10.00pm.

Do those jobs you 'really should be getting on with' during the day, then reward yourself with an evening by the water. That's what I'll be doing

Here here, done nothing but chuck it down yesterday, rivers are going to be un-fishable tomorrow

Last year I caught more trout on the river when it was bright, sunny conditions (CDC & Elk being the fly that resulted in more fish than any other fly)

Go fishing, it will almost certainly be difficult. But you never know, I've had great days in brilliant sunshine, and it beats working.
