Today I part exed 2 cheapo rods and 35 quid for a Greys of Alnwick 9foot 6 7/8# Montana Rod in mint condition from a shop which was selling it for 75 quid.
My question is ......How much would one normally pay for one of these rods????????

Not too sure but it is a reasonably mature model, I think last of the Greys independant rods before Hardy's took Grey's over.

I think I have a 10footer in a cupboard somewhere.

think its around 11-13 yrs old - i read a review somewhere that rated it quite highly, comparing it to a sage (of it's time) one was on ebay recently but don't know if it sold.
i reckon that the most important factor with any rod is that it's enjoyable to fish with - if you've got that then you've got a winner tight lines

Got one off the montana range years ago, 8'6 #3wt for a mate who was looking for a light river rod, im sure i paid about £90 new for it, though it might have been reduced at the time, wished i had kept it for myself.
