Default Hardy Mach vs Snowbee XS

Can anyone provide some advice on which of these lines would be more suited to an average level caster:

(Described by the Sportfish catalogue)

A Hardy Mach Trout which is described as having a medium head and a Snowbee XS which is described as having a long head.

I would of thought that the Mach Trout would give me less problems as I have to have less line out of the tip to load the rod for casting (and thus less to manage in the air). However, I seem to cast better with the Snowbee XS.

Can anyone help?

Hi
A lot of guys swear by the Snowbee line. Once, on a casting lesson, my instructor told me that the Mach line was a fantastic fishing line but not necessarily a casting line.I have to agree - to me it felt very light.
Not sure if this helps
Chris

The only Hardy lines I have are a Marksman and a Mach Spey so I can't comment on other lines in their range.

I do have a Snowbee XS and absolutely love it's feel, quality and the delicate way that it can deliver. A really nice line that feels just a shade under weight to me - but I like it that way. I would think that 'light feeling' is probably due to casting short lines.

The Hardy Marksman (for what it's worth) I like as well, but for different reasons.
