Default Hardest fighting fish

Would just like to ask what still waters you feel the hardest fighting fish are. I'll start off with LAKE OF MENTEITH. Had 2 visits lately and was shocked how much of a fight the rainbows were giving.

For quality hard fighting fish I have always found the RBs and Brownies at Stocks Reservoir the best in our area.

Sure the rainbows there fight hard, but compared to a brown on leven, no contest.
or mebbes a sea trout in any river.
for longest run (100 yards plus) on trout weight tackle, on fly, is bonefish or tuna!

Hi Guys

I was in islandderry fishery in lisburn (northern ireland) last week and boy i have to say, pound for pound they have to be the best fighting fish i ever had
I was told that they were great fighters a few times but they fought over their reputation, well worth a try.
I have a theory on this i think when trout are rared in strem like fish farms and there is a current flowing, these fish are surely are going to be far better fighting fish.
Pity more fisheries hadn,t a falls, white water rapids and extra fast currents threw them

The blues on Menteith fight twice as hard than the rainbows

Around here, sorry not familiar with the UK waters, for trout there's a strain that has steelhead mixed with Kamloops Redband and they're insane! A 27-inch specimen will weigh over 10lbs and it's not uncommon to have them break 8-12lb tippet on the strike. Yes, on the strike. The first run will take you well into your backing.

Pound for pound out here, hooking a 30lb channel catfish with the fly rod is like hooking a highway truck. Even with a 9-weight and 15lb tippet they're a handful. At the end of a fight you'd be lucky to have enough strength in your arms to lift the fish for a picture. No joke. lol.

These two were 38" and 39" and weighed up to 30lbs.
