Default Repair a damaged line

Hi,
An intermediate line I have is a bit tatty... a few of inches from the end, the plastic coating is stripped a little. Is it ok to cut it back and re-attach a new leader? I will seal with glue etc but was wondering if this would affect the balance if I cut too much off.

Thanks in advance
Kevin

A few inches wont hurt as most lines have 2ft or so of thin line/taper before you reach the belly/head

hello a few inches off should not make much difference and save you buying a new 1 cut off damadge attach new leader and seal. then more happy fishing

In fact it often improves a line to hack off much of the level line - especially if you're fishing small streams or only making short casts.

Kevin, its no problem to a take a bit off, take time and reseal it good to stop water getting on the inside of line, and away you go... more and bigger fish this time

no need to seal the end as water penetration wont be a prob on an intermediate, and losing a bit of taper wont matter either, and the savings help too
