Default leader/tippet what's the difference??

when I set up for my local river I tie maybe 6ft of 5lb fluorocarbon to my braided loop then I add 3 ft of 4x tippet onto this aswell as a dropper using 4x tippet again. is this what is meant by a tapered leader. also does anyone know of an easy way to attach the fulling mill yarn Strike indicators on without it being permanent, so that I can slide it up and down to change depths.

also what exactly are tapered leaders. I think I have seen them
in shops but dont have a clue what they are. do they have droppers attached, do you add your own droppers, what/when are they best used. are they better than tying up your own leaders ???? help my minds a jumble.

ok so say I'm using a size 16 fly on the point. id attach mayb 3ft of 5x tippet to that then 6ft of 4x tippet to my braided loop and somewhere in between I'm attaching a dropper or two using 5x tippet. is that a tapered leader? and is a knotless tapered leader basically this but with not knots?

A tapered leader is basically a leader that starts off thicker at the line end and gradually gets thinner along its length (be it with or without knots).Ive posted a link that'll help if you want to make your own ( with knots )but to be honest id just look in the classifieds and buy them with or without droppers ( the ones without droppers are knotless ).If you buy them without droppers you can then attach a tippet/dropper via a knot or use rings
