Wink drought what drought ?

Hi
Last week as I was driving out fishing I heard the radio weather person announce that areas of the East Midlands had a water shortage and a hosepipe ban would follow.
Looking at Draycote , Rutters , Grafham and Pitsford I see no sign of a water shortage.

In fact Sunday 12 th June was a total daylong rainstorm.

Has any Reservoir out there got a water shortage ??

East side of the country is in a poor state, some reservoirs are a third to a quarter of usual levels, our syndicate rivers are less than half their normal Summer height, some older members say lowest they have been in 50 years, we had no rainfall in January, only 38mm in feb Zero in March and April, 24mm in May and 32 in June (but thats just evaporated) in total just over 50mm in the 6 months we would expect at least 400mm, so yes deffo a drought big style!!!!!

Feel free to come and collect whats overflowing from our reservoirs. Say £5 per bucket? Come to think of it, if Wales gets it's own government, it should be as rich as the oil countries, if such droughts continue and they are happy to pipe the water across (with the meter running of course). After all oil can only run cars and the like whereas water is essential for life

In Lancashire reservoirs are low for the time of year but not in trouble as far as I know.

........

Drought, well when I came back from Oz with my tail between my legs in April the sunshine was a welcome distraction.

The usual comments of" this mean we are going to have a heatweave summer followed"...Well down here in Cornwall at least I would say that the ressies are fine and that the typical British summer of grey, drizzle, heavy downpours and high gusting winds interspaced with moments on sun is back as usual.

I have got royally drenched for hours on my last few trips

I think drought should be taken for a misleading deception for overpopulation.

I think the problem is that this year we've exported all the rain to america where they've had myriad floods and heavy rains and storms, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Washington were all flooded when I was there between May and June 2010, but they've had it even worse this year all over the country with maybe a few exceptions. So better blame the americans!
