Default Waders

I know this has been written about before but hopefully this is new. 2 years ago I bought a pair of Stillwater chest waders and boots. The waders are X Large and the chest part fits me and the as well as the bottoms except that trying to take the stocking feet off it takes me about ten minutes the boots are a size 11/12 which fit,I normally I take a size 13/14. Has anyone got any idea how to take them off quickly or do I have to buy a bigger pair of waders

Have you tried grabbing the waders at the point of the heel and pulling them there?

I have this trouble too and have followed a suggestion offered on this forum and that is to use a long shoe horn which you can purchase for just a few quid at the local Timsons. These are about 18" long. You push the waders down to the calves and then wiggle the shoe horn down inside to position at the back of the heel. With a bit of wiggling and downward pushing you can ease the neoprene sock past the heel. Not a fantastic idea but certainly a help for the less flexible of us. Failing this, i believe you can get new socks fitted, but could be expensive. ATB, Alan.

Well I've been out fishing today and it took me about 20 mins of standing on them pulling them trying to get them off and I also hurt my calf muscle, it's a good job I didn't have a knife or I would have hacked the waders off

Try wearing two pairs of thin socks; silk are the ideal, they must be slippery. Foot comes out wearing the inner pair, then retrieve the others.

A cheaper option is to put your foot in a plastic bag before pulling on the waders. The only down side is that it may make your feet a bit wiffy!!
All the best.
