Default CDC and Elk

Just a quick post to "Thanks Hans" for the above fly.

Its a cracker, and has scored very well for me now that the sedges are up ( surely the peak of the season if you dont have mayfly on your river)

So cheers Hans.

Incidentally, on one fly, i swapped the Elk wing for CDC, but kept the cdc body with trailing bits ,and my best ever trout from a river smashed it as soon as it landed.

So will be tying more, but have already cranked out a few more CDC and Elks.

Top work Hans !

It has only matched my new fly - the CDC and Herl ( a black, sunk abdomen representation of a drowned beetle or terrestrial) , since the sedges came.

I could probably fish these two , a Klink ( for NZ dropper) and a JT Olive and use nowt else all season.

Do try to substitute the deer hair for cdc wing though on a few of the flies you tie....my trout the other night nearly made me jump , it hit it so hard....

Indeed I can 1981. I've never seen the pattern that I tie anywhere before, and i've been on this site and others for a few years. I hope to get a pic up soon. How do you tie your fly?
