Hi. I was wondering if anyone off the forum is going to the wild trout evening on Friday night at the Tufton Arms in Appleby? Would be nice to put faces to names......

I cant make it, but I was there last weekend just after the horse fair ended and fished a couple of beats. The Tufton Arms is a quaint place, and the owner, Nigel, is very helpful and friendly and its worth picking his brains about the fishing beats . The food looks good but the beer is ok at best in the hotel, but I must say that in several decades of committed exploration I have rarely if ever been to a town with so many terrible pubs. If you do decide to go out, the best place for good beer and good food, by many a country mile, is the Royal Oak.
