Default Assynt

Four of us heading up to the Assynt area of north west Scotland this month, staying in Drumbeg for week's fishing.

None of us know the immediate area but intend walking up to some smaller hill lochs as well as taking in some of the larger ones within a short driving distance.

Any advice regarding venues or tackle would be greatfully received, any chance of Sea Trout?

We will have use of a sea going boat so any suggestions for sea fishing also gratefully received.

I was fishing up there at the start of the month. I'd suggest going to see Peter Hendrick who stays in the cottage, Culag square in Lochinver. He'll sell you permits and give advice on where to fish etc.
If you havent already, check the Assynt threads on here or Google for info.

Smile Re: Assynt

Jaggy has given a very helpful PM, thanks for the suggestion.

Have checked the threads and the Assynt websites via Google.

The only problem now seems to be the distance from here and choice of Loch

Many thanks
