Default ghyll head trout fishery, nr. windermere

going camping in the lakes soon, anybody fished at ghyll head recently. what methods and tactics are working. any help or advice greatly appreciated, thanks, terry

As no one has replied yet to your request I will start it off. This fishery is famous for its buzzer hatch May/June. I think I would try buzzers for a
start.

buzzers and drys work well on gyhll head,try the end nearest the wood end about half way on userly pritty good.

As soon as a bit of warmth arrives so will the Bracken Clock, a largish beetle (half inch long) with a black underside. The trout lock onto them when they end up on the water, providing great dry fly fishing. I saw the beetle on Windermere last week as well as on a nearby tarn. Ghyll Head gets them big time. Prepare and enjoy!
