Hi Folks. I have what may be a silly question but... I have just started to move from using a single fly to using a dropper and I have read about the dropper pointing upwards or downwards. What does this mean and what is best?

It refers to the line that makes the dropper length from the knot. This should be the length that goes towards the tip end of the leader as it is stronger.

Moisten, draw tight and trim the end which points towards the reel. The one pointing down towards the fish is the dropper..

Only applicable to knots that end up with tags parallel to the leader. Not applicable to knots that tie perpendicular, like the blood knot.

Thanks Guys. I understand that now. I think that I was confused because I had been using a Dropper Loop and could not work out what was up and what was down
