Well proper tough question. All subjective and what not.

I did have a fling with one of Steve Parkes (Atom six) rods recently.

It was pretty ace, now don't quote me on this, but I'm sure it even glowed blue when trout were present. I shall be making a purchase shortly.

O.K. my friend, you're opening a VERY big can of worms here, but how about a bit more info - what rod length, what material (split cane, glass, carbon) what action (through, medium, tip)

Best at what? There are many things to consider, and no rod on earth is going to be best at everything.

Not so much a fling but a full blown unadulterated love affair. Forgot all your fancy names that aren't even made in the UK anymore, If you want a hand crafted rod made in the UK at half the price of the so called top names in fly fishing then Steve Parkes is your man.

He allowed me to test 4 or 5 rods before I found my ideal partner and I'm sure he still offers this service.

Well worth the money without a shadow of a doubt
