Try the Pirate or Mike barrio in the classifieds section. Both do good soft supple line for half the price of the ''premium'' brands.

Another vote from me for either Barrio or Pitsford Pirate lines.

Why not buy both a WF7 and a DT6 (for delicate dry fly work) and still stay within your budget ?

I agree, 'tis a lovely line, feels nice, loads well, very little memory. I use it in 4 , 5 and 7 wts.

However Snowbee xs is also of a similar quality. I have used Cortland 444 for several years now and always end up returning to it when i have tried other lines. A month ago I bought a Snowbee line and have to say that is a really lovely line by comparison I would say it feels just a shade lighter with a softer presentation.

Snowbee xs is the best I have used, very supple and casts beautifully. It does however have a tendency to crack by the loop. cant comment on the Cortland peach as I have not tried it.
