Hi,
I have been offered a Fenwick TECHNA AV 8ft6 rod and the price seems good at £85 I am impressed with the finish of the rod. I have no real knowledge of these rods are they any good.

There is a rod in excellent condition on EBay for £75 a 8'.6" #5. this seems to be about the right price second hand.

This American rod has a good reputation in write ups and is unique in that the blanks are reinforced with a Kevilar material know as Aramid Veil. This makes them stronger but lighter. I have no personal experience of how the rod handles. Some other member may have.

I've handled them in a shop. Compared to other rods in the same price range, it feels pretty good. It's not an XP, but its also not a cortland.

Thanks,
Rick

I'm the proud owner of a fenwick silver wing double handed salmon rod and I love it.
As I understand it Fenwick are the equivalent of Greys/Sage type rods, just they have never made it over the pond.
They have a reputation as good mid range rods as far as I'm aware.

£75-80 seems like a reasonable price, and if it's as nice as the double handed I have it's worth it!
