Just getting back into it after 25ish years I use a dry nymph then a buzzer but only catch on the dry so my retrieval is out I think jaw fast/slow should I try or am I barking up the wrong tree as apparently should have been using a zonker at wykeham at the weekend trust me so many questions you'll all be sick of me but thanks anyway

MooMoo this question has been asked by beginers a hundred times on this forum but don't worry us kind fishermen will always try to help. Fishing is different on rivers than stillwaters. If you fish Wykeham Lake and there are anglers about go and ask for advice on what method and what to fish with. There is no one definative answer and even weather conditions, hatch, and time of day affect a trout's feeding pattern.

Their publicity states buzzers and nymph patterns are the favourites but small lures and Damsel fly nymphs also work. This fishery is regularly stocked so you should have good sport.

Tight lines
