Just put the tying vice away and while I was having a play I took some buzzers out of a jiffy bag (I dont fish buzzers as a rule but hey you never know). Wondering how one fishes these little darlings I wondered how you float them just under the surface as a hatching fly.
I decided to tie one that would float thus but have no CDC or the like to create a shuttle cock on the top.

Hey presto a single bubble cut from the jiffy bag and tied in behind the eye.

It just might work..............



You can all jump in now telling me you have been doing it for years...........

is called suspender buzzer, has been tied with millions of types of floatant materials at eye of hook, from polystyrene through to ethafoam.
does what you are suggesting, foam/floatant sits on surface, buzzer/hook is sub surface.

I tie a small piece of black 3.5mm booby eye foam to the top of the hook to suspend the buzzer. It works well.

I'd wager that hundreds, if not thousands of folk have considered it... for a moment, but binned the idea after considering the durability issue aswell.
