Default restoring a tired looking Sage rod

Hi - I have a Sage SP 10ft 7wt, and it is still my second fave rod after my Loomis GLX Native Run. Anyways it is startlng to look tired and the cork handle is really worn. Anyone know who can restore it- new rings / cork handle / tidy up the scratches etc. Also - what kind of money am I looking at for this job? North East would be good if possible, so I can drop it off.

+1 on the response above. This may sound a bit odd as I'm 8 time zones to the west ... but I can 'research' anything. That's what I do with my 'consulting business.' (Even have clients in Moscow ... yes, that Moscow, not Moscow, Idaho).

His 'rep' is solid.

You could try Foxons in St.Asaph, N.Wales - authorised repairers for Sage UK.

The job you describe is significantly more work than building from a new blank. Good quality fittings allow £40-80 depending on bling factor and cork quality. And towards a day's labour at around the rate you'd pay a plumber.

Try Steve Parton at Sparton Tackle I have seen and fished with his work first hand. You will not be disappointed if he can spare the time. There is another member name of Top Conker who totally refurbished a Loomis GLX for me as close to home and I could drop it off.Fantastic job he made and this rod was in dire need of TLC.

On the other hand if you do decide to not sell it to Darren I feel sure I could find it a good home if the blank is sound.
