Thumbs down Re: wykeham lakes

Dam where was this info last week? in my ignorance I thought lures were more for the wintery times typical as never entered my head to give it a bash. just as well probably with the ssize of the pike as I would have sh*t myself if I'd have hooked one of those ugly mothers!

I have it on very good authority that the trout lake holds a pike close to the record.... Apparantly it was caught last winter by a group that were allowed to fish the trout lake with pike gear....

Don't know if this will still be a help to anyone or if I am a bit late (I'm new on the forums!) - I had never fished Wykham before the middle of May, have been a few times since. Caught plenty of fish on Lures (Dawsons Nomad & Black Zonker - floating line), Buzzers & Klinkhammers - I have found that watching the fish has worked for me, if they are showing on or just below the surface the Klinkhammer(Point)/Buzzer(dropper) has worked, if they stop showing a switch to lures (but still fished quite high up) has brought takes. All very good condition to 6lb, smallest still over 2lb
