Default Still waters with rules on fly choice - natural emphasis

Can anyone advise me on stillwaters that encourage the use of traditional fly fishing methods?

If you can put forward names of waters in the west midlands, north west or Yorkshire I would be very grateful

You pay for the days fishing , so you make the choice Naturals only is abit of a myth, as most flies dont look anything like the insect, and i hate all these stupid rules fisheries have, you pay alot of money to catch and have a days sport , you should be able to so how you like , not be told you cant use these flies or that indicator or that line, its pathetic, dosnt matter what fishery you go to you can use naturals i try my self to stick to them as much as possible , but conditions and feeding dictate what to use if you want to catch fish and thats the purpose aint it nothing shameful about using a cats over a nymph if it works, if fact your using you noddle, good anglers use that and are good anglers for that reason tightlines Gaz

As Richard felt he needed to start another thread in order to gain an answer to his posed question.

Could we please respect his question and try not to go off track .

Thankyou everyone

Try Ireland. Any of the western loughs encourage "traditional" methods whatever they actually are. They even permit the use of true naturals as in dapping with real insects.

As for over here, feel free to use traditional flies on any water you please, but I don't think you should expect a fishery owner to restrict his customers to those sort of methods. That's a very quick way of becoming an ex-fishery owner. Most modern stillwater anglers couldn't tell the difference between a Mallard & Claret and an Invicta, assuming they even possessed such antiques!
