Default Sorry, Boring Line advice query

Hi

Simple ? really...

I usually fish reservoirs and as such my line reflect this.

I use Snowbee floaters, Rio Midge tip and outbound intermediates and Airflow sinkers.

Whats ther problem you may ask... Well I have been fishing smaller more intemate waters recently. In the howling winds we have at the moment line control has been sketchy at the best. The stong gusting cross winds meant control of nymphs etc were hopeless with the floater, the midge tip hepled a bit but still sufferd to much surface drag, my outbaound intermediate worked fine but is as subtle as a brick on a small water.

I had an unused Cortland clear camo, so i tried it and what a pig to cast, I really struggled with it, it was very stiff, constanly tangled and almost felt sticky and just would not shoot. I fought with it for an hour and finally gave up out a di 3 on and had 4 Bows to 4.5 lb. Whats the problem, well I could of done with a decent intermediated in my bag.

Getting to the point, I am looking for a slow intwermediate that is good to cast, it does not have to be clear and I have not got the time to try out loads of lines at shops so any user recomendations please.

Steve

Rio Aqualux clear Intermediate fly line, probably one the best intermediate lines on the market, costs about £50.

Oddly enough I always found the same with a clear intermediate (airflo) it was flippin terrible. The final straw came when I coulnt see it at night, trod on it and snapped my tip

I switched to a Cortland 444 I.

You actually need a slow inter, I feel, and there are really two to choose from - the Airflo Sixth Sense, if you like a low stretch line or PP's Neutral Density, if you do not.

I have been using both of these for nymphing over the last couple of windy weekends.
