Default fishing masterclass

well thats it after months of teaching myself i had a 5hr session last nite where the fishing was unbelievable.started with a chance meeting with an england international 2 nights before and after a bit of crack the offer came to take me out and give me some pointers the offer was quickly accepted and fished last nite, started with a lesson on buzzer fishing something ive never done after 2hrs and several fish caught and lost i was amazed.then we did a couple of hrs dry fly fishing which ive done but only ever caught the odd 1 at the end of the 2hrs i had caught 2 very nice rainbows and missed probably 6 or 7 really frustrating way to fish but so exciting.

Just wanted to post on here and say a massive thank you to the young man teaching me and pointing me in the right direction i learned so much and really appreciated him giving me his time.

the young mans name,

richard landsbury.

thanks for the lesson mate.

You were fortunate indeed as Richard Lansbury is a young up and coming star of the angling world. He has consistently won competition after competition over the past seven years and is still on the up.You probably couldn't have had a better teacher.

Yeah it was a good few hours Terry! We were at Sharpley Andy.

But, over the last few months, my enthusiasm has really dropped off, and I have decided to pack in the fishing for the time being. I have recently finished University, and have taken a job in London, which will be taking all my time. I have also resigned from the England Smallwater Team for this year, being replaced by a superb angler, Ed Foster.

I have recently sold all my sea fishing and coarse fishing gear, and my fly gear has mostly gone! I may take it up again in the future, but for the time being, its just not for me! I do still have my fly business, but the flies I have are the last, so get in touch for those all important secret patterns! lol.

Thanks to everyone that I have had the pleasure of fishing with and learning from over the years, its been a hell of a journey!

Hi Richard

The above are extreme measures but I understand that life's priorities change. The wonderful thing about fishing is that you can always return to it in the future. Good luck with your new career.
