Default Ready made leaders

Hi

This could be a daft question..........

One thing that winds me up when I'm fishing (mainly boat fishing) is having to set up a new leader with droppers. Either because I've tangled (99.9% of the time) been snapped off or decided to hook the prop!! When the wind is blowing and fingers are cold it ain't no fun.

If I make my leaders up before hand, including attaching my flies, how can I attach to my loop on my fly line when out on the water?

Clear as mud?

Cheers

hello you could use those mini snap links if using sinking lines, for floating i just make make large loop on the back leader and thread through braid loop then fly and leader through leader loop, not for everyone but works for me, orvis do a handy gadget to keep leaders and fly safe and ready to fish, or a course fish float line holder can do same as can get in longer sizes.happy fishing

If you are using braided loops on your fly line, any reliable knot can join the cast to the loop of the braid, I prefer a Pitzen (also know as the 16-20) knot, passing the end of the cast, twice though the braided loop to help spread the weight and to stop the cast cutting the braided loop.

Pitzen knot, one of the best fishing knot to tie hook to the tippet.

Otherwise if your using nail knot mono to fly line put a silver ring on end of nail knotted section, rest of cast can be joined to other side of ring.
