Default Nets.

Why are the landing nets for slamon, trout, sea & coarse fish all different, and could you use any of the nets for any discipline of angling?

I believe, although not an expert and maybe wrong that coarse fish nets are micro mesh to not harm them (their scales) and trout nets may have been designed years and years ago to let water pass through on rivers ? maybe I'm not to sure though.

As for sea and "slamon" lol im not to sure

but as for using any net, I cant see a problem! I have never seen a rule on nets for trout fisherys.

Default Re: Nets.

It's horses for courses. Fine mesh, wide mouth, deep nets for course fishing with handles that go on forever.Shallower nets, medium mouth, wider mesh, shorter handles for trout unless your boat fishing. A very wide circular mouth gye deep net, with larger mesh, for salmon/sea trout with an average length retractable handle. Mesh does vary from small fish to large with net mouths to suite the size of the fish to be landed.

Descriptions are very broad brush as all nets, for all purposes, have variations.
