Default Vibram soled walking boots.

Hi Guys & Gals,

Whilst working in a T J Hughes store today I noticed they have in stock some Vibram soled walking shoes, they're made by Regatta & are on sale £24.99.

I mention this as I put up a thread about wading boots a few weeks back & some people have said that due to the nature of felt soles (potential biological flaws) that they will be turning to the rubber soles as an enviromental friendly alternative.

Not sure how good they are but at £25 surely worth a pop.

Go on folks:

Fill yer boots

The felt soles peeled off my wading boots last summer, so for a couple of trips i used my vibram soled walking boots.

BIG MISTAKE

it was like wading with roller skates on

There is Vibram and then there is Vibram. The sole unit is generally good but the composition of the compound will vary depending on whose boots they are tacked on to i.e Scarpa good... Regatta err....ummmm...ahem... you gets what you pays for.

Paddy, the stitching started coming apart on my Scierra Dynatracks after 4 hours, along side the peeling soles.
Vibram soles with a few studs added should do the job.
I am presently testing a glue used in the woodworking trade, for fixing both rubber and felt soles back on.
It's looking promising, but I wont say any more until they have had a damn good testing, let's just say there is hope!!

Used a pair of my old leather reserve walking boots as wading boots and they lasted years. On the downside they took ages to dry and required copious amounts of polish to keep them supple, however they were comfortable and provided good all-round traction.
