Default good floating line that doesnt cost an arm and a leg

hi there looking for a new floating line at the moment and would appreciate tips on a good line, and i was told to go a line heavy from my rod , is this the case because loading the rod i have i di have to give it quite a bit of a jerk, cheers, russell.

You need to specify what weight of line your rod can cope with. The Pitsford Pirate on this forum sells good quality lines at reasonable prices. PM him and ask his advice.

Sound advice from BK. Another alternative is Mike Barrio. Both lines are very good value for the money.

cortland is one of the best floating lines check the classifieds

I use Greys Platinum fly lines. I like them and never had a problem with them.

Grommit does a nice cheap floater, £9.99. I use it & find it e really good line for the price.

I recently got a mucilin floating line of eBay 7/8# for under a fiver
And found them to be really good
It flys out with little effort and floats right on the top
Also it has no memory
So worth a try mate

Pitsford Pirates Lines are fantastic value for money, not often postage is part of the advertised price, which makes it even better.

Despite my appalling spooling technique, it lays out lovely and straight!
