Default Fishery etiquette.

On a recent visit to Witton Castle Lakes, in Durham, I was somewhat dismayed by the behaviour of some anglers. Obviously in a group, maybe 5 or 6. Two of whom set up Coarse style, and fished all day with an indicator, in the same spot.
Shouting across the water to their mates, effing and blinding with seemingly no consideration for other anglers, or the peace and quiet. Totally spoiled my day.
Saw one of them kill two fish before 9 am, two before twelve, and one in the PM. Its a three fish kill limit then you must stop fishing.
No Respect, No consideration.
Who would I contact? any suggestions lads?

The manager. If he doesn't act, I'd suggest that you don't go back and let him know that also.

Default Coarse (as in rude) fishing

Yes I'd tell the bailliff. If its a ticket water they should have to follow rules. The worst thing is when you're on a public water and have to put up with whatever comes along - rude noisy "fellow" anglers, threatening teenagers, threatening teenagers chucking their staffy in the river right where you're fishing, groups of family shoppers going to Sainsbury's loafing right behind you talking about you in loud voices and gawping as if you're in a zoo etc. & that was just last sunday on the Beloved Wandle. I'm intrigued though Hiram, you said they were coarse fishing, so what sort of fish did they kill?

Happy hunting.
Dave.

they will have a warden/bailiff on all day..to be honest he normally walks the water a couple of times a day so he would be most unhappy to find people effectively stealing the fish by taking over the bag limit

normally its not a bad place to fish..I go a couple of times in the season..normally leaving it to late as its an excellent water for feeders
