Hi Folks, Will be fishing sweethope this week looking for any info ie
Flies, Lines, Areas, whats method is best at the moment
Been a long time since i fished this cracking water so any advice would be very much appreciated

Jim,

If you’re passing Newcastle on your way over, you could try calling into Bagnall & Kirkwood’s tackle shop on Grey St in the city centre. I think the lads in there fish Sweethope quite regularly and will probably have some useful tips. Failing that, try Game Fishing Supplies in Morpeth (they post on here sometimes as well), whose knowledge of all the local fishing is just as good.

Its been a bit blowey down here all week, not sure if I would fancy the big lough untill it settles a bit.

Hi Jim, my mate fished Sweethope last week and had seven on a four hour session from the big lake, he was fishing from the right hand side of the car park ie the r/hand side looking down the lake, he had loads of knocks using a floating line and various buzzers and nymphs.
It looks like a very breezy weekend so Sweethope could be very iffy.

If you call into my shop Jim (Game Fishing Supplies in Morpeth) and speak to Brian, his club where fishing Sweethope recently and had a superb day
