I'm new to the forum and only been fishing for about 3 years.

I have recently become a Dad and now seriously nned to cut down on cost.

I'm looking for advice on how to build my own leaders can you help?

I have also seen different size braided loops attached to fly lines and would like to know what this about. Can you advise?

I would really appreciate any tips on equipment i can make myself or purchase at low price.

I currently fish at local fisheries.

Welcome to the forum & Congratulations on becoming a dad. If you look on here you will see a thread already running that will answer some of your question. There were a couple of posts made today.

Braided loops. I try & keep mine as small as possible, it stops it dragging my leader down to much when fishing dries, another tip is to Gink the loop up. Also you could try using a nail knot, to join a length of 20lb to the fly line. There is a lot of information on the other thread.
