Default Rio i-line

I was just wondering if anyone on the forum has used the Rio i-line, and if so, what did they think of it. I'd also be grateful for information on stockists, and any deals that are going.
Cheers,
Angus

Angus, the reference to a RIO "I Line" went right over my head; have a link to the product? Ask as I can't find any reference to 'that' on RIO's web site.

Hi, I got the iline at Xmas with some tackle shop vouchers, to be honest I wouldn't normally spend that much on a line (£60, gone up to £70 now in the same shop) but it was the season of goodwill and all that, got to say that it is excellent, a very fat belly so not the most subtle of lines but once you learn the loading point it's more than possible get delicate presentation. I'm not the worlds best caster but I fish with someone who has brilliant technique, he had a go with it and stripped it to the backing 1st time whilst muttering something about it being very good (not in those words though!!). He uses a Rio Gold but said the loading point is quite unforgiving and that the iline was better in that sense.

Expensive? Yes. Worth it? For me, yes. Not sure of any deals but hope this helps with regards to the line.

Well I'll be darned .... again!

Had no idea RIO had product line(s) only sold Across the Pond.

Hummmmm, need to give Simon a call on this and ask: "What else are you hiding?" Maybe why Grommet has my credit card number on file?

****! Just took a break from my consulting bus and looked out the window. HAILING LIKE A SOB! Can we catch a weather break here and have at least two days back to back of 'Spring?'

i was over your side of the pond a couple of years ago Fred and looking for a Loomis GLX Distance at a bargain price(it was $2 to the pound then).A popular rod here at the time but no sign of them in the states-i guess companies market different products for different countries

all the best Nick

Designed by Lee Cummings, an APGAI instructor. Excellent for up close rolls/switch/spey casts, which is was designed for, but you need to get the timing right and the correct amount of line out of the tip ring to make it work.

A very well balanced line and good for overhead casting at shorter range.

I wasn't keen on the bright colours for small river work though.
