Default New fishery near Dunfermline

I have heard that there has been planning permision granted for a new fishery near Dunfermline. I was wondering if anyone else from the area has heard the same? I believe that it is going to be near Saline. I cant think of any body of water near this area and was wondering if they are going to build it from scratch? Glad to hear that we will have another fishery near Dunfermline. if it is true that is.

Cheers

you can see it getting built right now. its on the road past lathalmond. at the bad corner where the turning for Townhill is. looks quite small just now but they maybe haven't stopped digging yet. its right next to the road.

Not yet Bob, keep meaning to pop over though. Perhaps I'll have a wee run out at the weekend for a gander.

Thanks for the details, I will need to go up and have a look. Hopefully it will be more than a puddle when it is done.

Hello Tickle,

I can't say we would be struggling, but a fishery 10 mins from my door is never a bad thing and if it gives me more choice then I am all for it.

Hi i passed it yesterday on the way back from loch glow and as already said it looks like a big puddle but is starting to take shape as a potential pond. i would probely try it but we already have plenty of fisheries within minutes of it such as craigluscar and loch glow.

i reckon it will need to be something pretty special to stand out against the rest of this kind of water in Fife, i wouldnt fancy opening one just now. There are loads, and folk tend to stick to their own prefferences. Lots of folk will give it a blast and it will need to perform to ensure return visits. i wish them the best of luck, another fishery can only be a good thing for anglers.

The planning docs indicate it ought to be 4 acres when finished, so a bit more than a puddle. Pity the planning docs don't indicate the countours of the bottom after excavation. That would be handy for us, if not for the planners, or the developers.
