Default Reel and Tippet question

Hi All.

Just going to buy a second hand Arbor reel with backing and line and braided leader loop with #7 floating line.

What would be a suitable tippet to accompany this ?

IMO Airflo Sightree is the best on the market and i have pretty much used them all. Riverge Grand Max is also very good but its on the pricey side.

If its breaking strain, go for 8lb copolymer.

Sightfree is Ok but not G3.I recommenf Fulling mill 7lb BS. and leader/tippet of 12' if you can handle it,to start with otherwise go for the length of the rod.if you want a taper ? then use 5lb for the last 3-4 feet of the leader .

For stillwater, 6lb should be adequate, length should be as long as you can comfortably cast with.

To load your rod.you will need to cast 30' min(measure this out) so get used to this length, and see what leader you can handle(bit of wool on tip)
