different size fly hooks

Hi - just looking for Black Pennel flies on Ebay.

It gave me 3 choices 10(D119) 12(D120) and 14(D121).

Can someone please explain the difference and what is the best for an beginner with 9ft 6/7 rod and reel to match

Its just different sized flies with the 10 being the largest and 14 the smallest.
It will depend on the size that the fish are after so you would be better getting a selection.
It wont matter what size and weight of rod that you have

Of course this is meant within reason,as you wouldn't want to be fishing a size14 on a #12 rod.Its all a question of balancing your tackle,ie # of rod,reel,line,leader,tippet,fly

The three sizes of fly you mention will be fine on a 6/7 rod

Check out the guys on here if you want to buy flies. They will, also suppy good advice as well.
