Very sad news indeed - lifejackets?

Could tthey not hold him up or did they drift away too quickly.

What a shame and how awful for all involved.

Very sad indeed

I can see how this happened as I was on Conn for a week and it is was bad all week with yesterday being the worst with the full brunt of it blowing down the Lough , we were nearly a gone'r twice while going up and crossing with a 8-10 footer on it , wa few times we were close to flipping over backwards while going upwind into it and twice we had a wave come in over us and the boat 3/4 filled with water . Thank god for floatation tanks in the boat . The floor of the boat has lifted and cracked from the force of it all , thank fook the hull survived it ....

I have to admit I don't always ware my life jacket but had it on all week up there .

Again , what a sad loss for all those involved

Thank you lord for giving me the chance to carry on fishing and R.I.P those that sadly can't ......

sketchy details coming from a mate but i believe they were running for cover after the weather turned nasty and the wind really got up,
really sad and a eye opener for all us anglers to be careful and treat every day on the water the same,
