I certainly wouldn't use a sink tip with dries Terry, defeats the purpose really

Terry, you have answered your own question You can try it, but don't hold out much hope on the fly staying on the surface.

Not unless you want to fish a sunken dry Terry, not stupid, it works.

I tend to use mine for deep buzzers and nymphs, or the washing line with a four flee rig, Cruncher on top, then a Diawl Bach, then a Buzzer, then a Cormorant Booby on the point.

The Pirate.

I believe the sinking tip line was created for the rivers to get the fly down deep and give the caster better control of the line. You wouldn't use this line with drys.

I have a couple sinking tip lines that I use in my local lakes around the weed beds. It's a great line to own.

Hear, hear. Definitely works, but to buy a sink tip just for that...nothing easier than drowning a dry fly, unless it's a bung

Johan

Buy the line and give it a go. If you don't like it after all, sell it.
